Tajin Takeover at taco bell

Who is Liv tries mas?

My name is Olivia Brown, and I am a senior at Longwood University, currently getting my degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice. More importantly (for the purposes of this blog), I am a HUGE Taco Bell Fan. I notice everything from small changes, like packaging updates, to big ones, like new menu items. Taco Bell truly is my favorite fast-food restaurant, and I'm always eager to see what they do next.
What's on the menu?
For our first visit, I went to my college town's Taco Bell in Farmville, Virginia. This particular location is a combination store with Long John Silver's. On this trip, I tried their specialty Tajín menu featuring a collab with Peso Pluma, a Mexican singer and songwriter. This menu includes a Tajín crunchy taco, Tajín gordita crunch, and a pineapple-strawberry Tajín freeze. In all honesty, I had never had Tajín before, so I had a vague idea of what to expect. I went in thinking it would be slightly spicy with a hint of lime flavor.
What's being examined?
Instead of just saying "this is good" or "this is bad", I have decided on a few categories to help give a detailed and fair ruling on the items I will try. These categories include: temperature of the item, visuals, price, customer service, overall flavor, and whether I would get the item again. Each category will be rated on a scale from 1-10, with 1 being the absolute worst and 10 being the absolute best.
Let's get to it!
I went to this location on September 16th, 2026, at 9:50 pm. I ordered inside, and I was the only customer in the restaurant. For starters, the customer service receives a 10/10. The lady who took my order didn't charge me for my drink since they were out of a lot of items. On top of that, she also told me I could have the promotional signage for their upcoming collaboration with Olivia Rodrigo once they were done with it. My food came out in a matter of minutes, and my order was prepared correctly.
As for the costs of these items, they were fair. The crunchy taco was 2.89, the cheesy gordita crunch taco was 5.99, and the pineapple-strawberry freeze was 3.79. So, for the price category, the Tajin menu gets a 9/10.
The drink was cold as it should be, and the tacos were warm, so there were no issues in the temperature section: 10/10.
When it comes to the way the items looked, they looked a little underwhelming. Obviously, they won't look exactly like the advertisements, but as I unwrapped my tacos, I wasn't even sure I got the right order. The outside of the tacos was advertised to be covered in Tajín, while in real life it was more like a sprinkle instead of a coating. As for the drink, it looked pretty accurate to the picture on the Taco Bell app. My rating for visuals is a 6/10, mainly because of the food items.
Now for the most important component: flavor. Unfortunately, the flavor was nothing to run home about. At its core, the food just tasted like a saltier version of the original. I tasted no spice or hint of lime flavor; it just tasted like salt. The thing that most closely resembles it is the Doritos Locos Taco (in a non-derogatory way). The food did not impress me. The pineapple drink, on the other hand, was confusing on my palate. It was super sweet and then savory, and it felt like I was reaching for a clear like or dislike for the drink, and it was just out of reach. If I had to swing one particular way, it would be dislike. It made me think too much, and when I come to a fast food restaurant, the only thing I want to be thinking is "Wow, this is delicious!" instead of "What is happening in my mouth?" The overall flavor category gets a 3/10.
The only part I didn't cover yet was whether I would get these items again and if I'm being honest, the answer is no. I don't see the point in paying more money (1.00 more for the hard shell taco) for something I didn't think had any edge over the original. So because I can say with 100% certainty that I wouldn't get this again, I will give this 0/10.
Final Thoughts

As shown above, Tajin x Taco Bell is not the strangest thing I've tried but also not the best either. Unfortunately, I was greatly underwhelmed by these items and wouldn't necessarily be remiss if they didn't make a reappearance. I will say I appreciate Taco Bell's ability to get creative with their menu and keep their customers wanting more.
To summarize, I tried all three items included in the collaboration and ranked them according to my scale. The scores are as follows: customer service-10/10, value-9/10, temperature-10/10, visuals-6/10, overall flavor-3/10, and finally would I get it again- 0/10. After averaging out my scores, I am left with a 6.3/10 for the entire experience.
Olivia x olivia x Taco Bell?
I appreciate you taking the time to join me today to find out if the Tajin exclusive menu is really worth all the hype. If you enjoyed hearing my thoughts, please check back next week, when I will be trying the "You seem pretty pink for a Baja Blast" drink featured in Olivia Rodrigo's collaboration with Taco Bell, centered around her new album titled "You look pretty sad for a girl so in love". If you'd like to prepare, as I will be doing for next week's installment, feel free to get familiar with her music if you haven't already, and take a listen to her new album.
